Phase 1 Development

Glen Ellyn Park District and the Village of Glen Ellyn are collaborating on the purchase, development and operation of the Glen Ellyn Downtown Community Park.

Located at 453 Forest Avenue, the first phase of park development includes demolition of the existing building and parking lot, creates new greenspace, open lawns, and winding paths that will connect our thriving community with a “front yard” for all and transform the area into an outdoor destination at an estimated cost of $5.6M. An area suitable for performances is incorporated into Phase 1 design.

We are raising funds to provide for a children’s nature play area, a seasonal chilled ice rink, a plaza on Duane Street and park operations.

We are seeking support for the park through Individual Giving, Sponsorship and Naming Opportunities, Corporate Support, Planned Giving, and Donations.

Future Phases

The planned vision of the park includes adding a vibrant event pavilion and upgraded amenities including year-round heated restrooms.
