Despite a brief passing shower, the fun never stopped at Thirsty Thursday on the Deck! 🌦️🎶 A huge thank you to the 183 guests who joined us for an evening of live music, friends, food, and beautiful views at Lake Ellyn. Together, we raised $915 to support the Glen Ellyn Parks Foundation’s mission of funding scholarships, preservation, and park improvements. What a wonderful evening at Summer Break at the Lake! ☀️🎶 Lake Ellyn Park was the perfect setting for an evening filled with live music, delicious food, great friends, and community fun. One of the highlights of the night was seeing the excitement on the face of our 50/50 raffle winner—what a moment! What a beautiful evening at Gator Mania! 🐊☀️ The 2026 Glen Ellyn Parks Foundation Gator Race was a tremendous success, raising **$3,100** to support scholarships, preservation, and park improvements throughout the Glen Ellyn Park District. A total of **559 toy gators** raced down the Sunset Pool slide in three exciting heats before advancing to the championship round. At its May 19, 2026, meeting, the Park Board of Commissioners approved Prairie Path Park as the official name of the new Downtown Community Park. In doing so, the Board recognized the strong connection residents already have to Prairie Path Park and the surrounding area. Retaining the name preserves the park’s established identity, honors its history, and reflects its location along the Illinois Prairie Path. As the site continues to evolve, the name will serve as a bridge between the park’s legacy and its future role in the community. As improvements take shape, Prairie Path Park will continue to bring people together, enhance the downtown experience, and serve as a vibrant gathering place for years to come.
